  CORPORATE INFORMATION
 

Asaco was founded in 1969 by Mr.K.Mohandas with only 5 employees and a vision to revolutionize the Indian Metal Forming and Cable Industries by introducing the World’s best European Equipment in India. Today, still principally owned by the Mohandas family, Asaco has grown into a professionally run engineering, sales and manufacturing organisation employing over 150 personnel, including over 30 qualified and experienced engineers.

Asaco’s main divisions are Asa Machine Tools (AMT), its manufacturing unit and Asaco Metal Processing (AMP).  AMP, a sister concern of Asaco, specializes in Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIPping) of process critical automobile aluminium and steel components.

  • The first wide width Computer Controlled Sitting line and Cut-to-Length Line(including V-notching,piercing etc) for transformer cores(laminations) at BHEL Bhopal-with GEORG,Germany.
  • The first Open Die Forge Press Installationg having two rai bound manipulators
    (intregated)and designed for "programmed" forging,the first"Multi-purpose" Forge Press Installation
    (combining "open",die,"Closed",die,"Extrusion"and "Liquid Compacting" applications,all in one from Pahnke,Germany
  • Manufacture of world class Tension leveling lines for the Indian Stainless Steel Industry
    with technical collaboration with Redex France
  • Having REDEX trained engineers for SENDZIMIR Rolling Mill Backup Assemblies
  • "Sinusiodal" shock-free hydraulic drives and State of the Art Electronic
    control systems for metal forming machines(forge press installations)
  • Manufacture of the first high speed Tandem Telephone Wire Insulating Line
    with Inline Annealer under license of Niehoff,Germany and Maillefer,Switzerland.

Founder of Asaco and visionary,  over the past 40 years, he has helped  revolutionize the Indian wire and cable and metal forming industries by bringing in the world’s best machinery in these fields.  He was instrumental  in introducing leading European companies such as Nextrom OY, Finland, Maillefer, Switzerland, Niehoff, Germany, Pahnke, Germany and others to the Indian industry.  He is also the Chairman Emeritus, Draka, India, one of the world’s largest Cable Manufacturing conglomerate.

   
 

Mr.Ajit Mohandas,  Joint Managing Director

 

Mr. Ajit Mohandas oversees Asaco’s operations and is presently focussing on strategic business expansion in order to make the company a complete manufacturing solutions provider.

   
 

Dr.E.S.B. Rao, Executive Director

 

Dr. E.S.B.Rao is one the most renowned and respected metallurgists in the country.  He has previously worked with one of India’s foremost metallurgical research laboratories. Presently Dr.Rao is spearheading Asaco’s high pressure metal forming equipment and processes division.

   
 

Mr.Sivarama Krishnan Nair, Executive Director

 

One of the top scientists in the country in the field of Aerospace engineering and liquid propulsion system design,  he now heads Asaco’s precision machining and fabrication unit. In his previous assignments, he has worked in Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s team on various aerospace projects.
